Almost a hurricane

What a deluge we have had! Heavy winds, branches everywhere. Three days of intense winds and rain. In photos I took from my veranda here, the Indian Ocean appears calm and serene. In these photos, the Indian Ocean is looking more like a lady than the wild woman she has been!

Nine provinces in South Africa had snow!!!

The rains and wind at this time of year are not unusual, but for most provinces here snow is unheard of.

You should see the Indian Ocean this morning. Gray with huge white waves. Half of the ocean that I can see from my window beside which I write is high full white torrential waves. This is its own gorgeousness, waves not lapping, waves not splashing, but waves smashing to shore. I wish you could see what the ocean really looks like this morning.

The winds are still intense, and it looks like more tempetuous rain is coming.

There is something so invigorating about weather when it goes wild. Even as I long for the hot summer sun, I love this roughness!
