A little while ago on the forum, there was a question about whether Walmart's rollbacks give real savings.

Wow, I've got a deal to tell you about!

I like composition books for Godwriting™. I give them to participants at Godwriting workshops. I like the  composition books because they are bound. They're simple. They're not ring binders. Well, I just prefer them.

I have usually been able to get them at Walmart for a dollar. Other places, in an emergency, I have paid $2.49 for the exact same notebook. A dollar is a fair price.

When I went into Walmart the other day -- Walmart is just about across the street from me now -- I saw that composition books were on sale for 15 cents each! I would have loved to buy the whole stock, but because I'm in transition and don't want to be a consumer, I restrained myself and bought only two.

This wasn't a rollback. Rollbacks aren't this drastic. I forget what it was called. It sure was a great deal.

What a dream! Composition books for 15 cents! And this is in 2010!

I started to regret that I hadn't gotten more. I went back, and, alas, they were all sold out.

Will composition books ever come back again at 15 cents per? Well, I am happy just knowing that such a deal did exist in this day and age. This was beyond my dreams.

Well, they did come back at 25 cents each. And this time they were yellow with squigglies on them. I bought four!
