A question of time

Now that I have left where I lived for years, I am seeing some things clearly. Should have been obvious, but were not. I have learned:

1. When there are people I would really like to get to know and who really want to get to know me, the thing to do, right then and there, is to make the time to get to know them, for opportunity isn't forever. Nothing in the world is forever. Apparently, I took it for granted that some day some dear people and I would get to know each other. Now I'm on my way to somewhere else.

2. The other side of the coin is that, instead of spending time with people who were a joy to be with, I spent time, with people who, too often, were a strain for me to be with.

3. I am re-learning that we have choices to make. In a recent Heavenletter, God asked us where we give our attention. God also tells us -- time and time again! -- that time does not exist and yet, in this relative world we live in, time is sure a factor, and we want to make good use of it.

4.  Sense of time seems to make things urgent. Tension seems to come from taking current life so very seriously. Recently, I saw someone have a flare-up because of nothing important at all that, to the person, had assumed enormous proportions. Being late, had become a matter of life or death rather than an inconvenience. There was no train to catch.

5. I'm thinking of the importance of being good-natured and pleasant. Maybe more important than anything else. The way to be good-natured and pleasant is by not taking life so seriously.

6. It's good to keep learning.

7. Human beings are people who learn and grow.
