What a great idea for Donna, a subscriber to Heavenletters, to publish interviews on her web site!

Here is a sneak preview of the questions Donna asked me:

1. When you were starting out in your career, how did you know you were making the right choice as far as pursuing that career for yourself?

2. Who were your biggest influences growing up?

3. When you faced obstacles or fear along the way, how did you overcome them, and move beyond them?

4. What or who inspires you and why?

5. If you could go back in time and change anything about your life, would you change anything? If so, what would you change and why?

6. What do you feel is your greatest achievement?

7. What are the most important lessons you have learned along the way?

8. What do you hope others will remember most about you and your life?

9. What is the best advice you would give other women who are not sure what path to choose in their life?

10. What does success mean to you?

So here begin my answers:

When I was starting out in my career, how did I know I was making the right choice as far as pursing that career for myself?

Divine Diva, I never thought of what I’m doing as a career! And I never knew ahead of time what I would be doing now or that I would ever do anything spiritual at all! When the time came, it wasn’t a question of choice for me -- it was like I had no choice. I mean, if you were presented with a beautiful treasure, could you turn it away? I don’t think I ever thought about what I’m doing as being right or not. It was simply irresistible to me. Anyway, here I am, and there’s no going back.

Before Heaven opened itself to me, I had been a school teacher and subsequently started my own job search strategy/career counseling business. Many of the people who came to me were desperate to find work. After a few years, I didn’t want to deal with anyone’s angst any more. I remember thinking that I wanted to get into something that was joyful from the beginning. I didn’t know what. I had no idea at all what. It turns out it didn’t matter what I knew or didn’t know. I had asked in my heart that something wonderful come, and then it did, and I took it. So, maybe all we really have to do is to desire and then let it happen.

Every day for ten years, I have been listening to the Voice Within and writing down the marvelous love and wisdom that I hear whispered. And every day, I email Heavenletters all over the universe to people of all ages and all walks of life, and I thank my lucky stars for this opportunity.

Who were my biggest influences growing up?

I was the youngest of five children. One of the things that being the youngest meant was that I believed everyone was better at everything than I was, and that everyone always knew more than I did.

My mother and father worked long hours in their grocery store, The Rose Market. Long hours meant they went to work at 3 a.m. and returned home at about 7 p.m., and Saturdays after midnight. Sunday was their only day off.

Until I was seven, there was a succession of people who took care of me, and then there was no one. This meant I was left alone. I got up on my own. I went to school on my own. I came home at lunch and made a peanut butter sandwich or something on my own and went back to school. No one told me what to do or when to do it. Today, this wouldn’t be allowed. What it meant for me, however, was that I was given the freedom to be, and this was the best childhood for me. I would not have done well with supervision, especially the constant supervision that kids today seem to have.

I think books raised me. Books certainly inspired me and gave me high ideals. I read a lot, and I believed in everything I read.

School gave me structure, companionship, education, sense of accomplishment, and, in second grade, something more. My second grade teacher, Miss Bancroft, stood out because she loved me. On my seventh birthday, she held me on her lap and kissed me. What a wonderful thing Miss Bancroft did for the little girl I was then. Obviously, I have never forgotten her, and my gratitude is great.

I was not brought up in any religion. The only talk of God in my house was when my parents made fun of the whole concept of God. I never made light of God, but I never thought about God much either.

So how did it happen I became a spiritual writer? That is the mystery.

Dearest Gloria! Mystery? I see God preparing you for becoming God' voice. First the independence at a young age then as a teacher and becoming a career councilor, without the religious upbringing to keep an open mind. Yes God made you ready for the God writing you do so extremely well. So where is the Mystery? BUT i am looking forward to the next installment. Love you all. Jack

My Dear Sweet Gloria,
I always knew that our connection was more than I thought it was 33years ago and now I know why. Your writings in Heaven Letters touches something inside of me. Not always do I understand butI certainly know it's doing something on some level.
Mystery?, it was always meant to be.
Much Love
Bloomers

I can't be the only one who finds this a mystery, can I?
of course, jack, it's God who does the Godwriting so well!

Bloomers, it can't be 33 years ago, those good times that we had. Seems like yesterday, angel.

It's a special treat having you read and love Heavenletters and then to find your post here -- a sweet blessing.

Well I must say that when I first thought about contacting Gloria for an interview, I was a little nervous. I figured she would be much to busy to answer questions for me, but as I always say, if you don't ask, you you will never know. So to my surprise I asked and she she said yes.
I was so excited about this. I mean here is this woman I admire who is touching lives all over the world and she took the time to be a part of my site and I am grateful for it. You see, I also hope to touch lives alll over the world with my writing and my life and sometimes I wonder if I will be able to do that.
It didn't start out that way for me. Dealing with chronic illness at a young age was not my idea of a great life, but I learned along the way that it was given to me for a purpose. If I had never gotten sick, I would have never started writing or doing any of the things I'm doing with my life right now. I have met some amazing women over the past few months and having Gloria be a part of my site, is a dream come true for me.
She is a special gift to us, and I am glad my journey led me to her and her readers. I believe we all have amazing gifts and talents and its our job to discover them and share them with the world. I know Gloria has found her gifts and is sharing them with the world, and my question to you, is what are your gifts? Have you discovered them?
They might not always be easy to find, but they are within each and every one of us, and I hope each and every one of you discover yours.
Have A Divine Diva Day! Donna

Gloria, Your response to the question, "What are the most important lessons you have learned along the way?" are wonderful. I printed them out so I can read them for inspiration daily. If I can master those 10 things I can live in joy all the time!
Love, Sally

Thanks, Sally. But what ten things?!! I've got to know so I can live in joy with you!

1. All worry is a waste, for there is nothing to worry about.
2. We are on earth to brighten the lives of those around us.
3. Life is full of suprises.
4. Out thoughts are powerful, and it's good to change most of them.
5. Make no excuses for anything.
6. Let go of the past.
7. Better not to take ourselves so seriously.
8. We might as well enjoy our lives while we're at it.
9. Keep giving love.
10. There is a God.

This is so good everyone should print them out and place them where they can read them daily. Thanks for being you Gloria.
Love, Sally
