Found Poems

When I used to teach school, my classes would create Found Poems.

Here’s how it was done:

The kids would go through magazines, the ads and all, find words, phrases, sentences that held some appeal for them, and then they would place them in some kind of order that felt right, and they would have found a poem! This really works.

In a way, the haiku poems that Karen makes from Heavenletters are found poems, words found in Heavenletters that stir the heart. Karen, however, follows the precise structure of haiki – three lines, 17 syllables – 5, 7, 5.

Found poems are easier because they are structured any way you want. You choose your own structure. Well, actually, you don't have to think of structure at all.

This morning I was impelled to find a poem from recent titles of Heavenletters.  I found two! There must be hundreds there.

Here's the first poem I found:

In the field of love

you are under the sun.

Deep in Eternity,

your one desire --

translating God.

Count to One

the footsteps of silence.

Here's the second:

A Great Illumination

the yellow sun

a yellow buttercup

the Goldenness of Heaven

Would you like to try your hand at making a Heavenletter-found poem? I would love to see what you find.

Post your Heaven-found poems here!

Outside the Realm of Time
Deep in Eternity
When you were born
In the Field of Love

A Sovereign Being

The words of Heavenletters are weaved from the silence. The consciousness infused in them, flows from the text into the hearts of the reader. Such a miracle. I keep thanking God for guiding me towards Heavenletters.

Very beautiful found poem, One.
Then a poem found itself from your words:

“Weaved from silence,
consciousness infused,
flown into hearts –
are words from Heaven.

"The I of You,
A visitor on planet Earth,
Saints and Angels,
The Light of Pure Being;
Must you pretend otherwise?"

Hi, I just got through reading your wonderful account of how Godwriting came to be. I have to tell you that this is perfect timing to me. I have served God in many ways for several years, and have been on my real journey for over 14 years. I have learned much about God and many, many other things. Recently God sent me to a psychic, and in the reading, God addressed me through a spirit guide or guides, my own, no less and the reader told me that they were highly pissed at me for not writing the book I was supposed to write fifteen years ago. Well after the reading I rushed out very shaken.
I had a few reasons I had not done this, I was waiting for timing, I felt I didn't have the full story yet, plus I had a world of self fears of writing professionaly. I was so upset by the reading, because I felt I had failed greatly by human error. But after a few weeks after I started writing I stopped being hard on myself.
Your account delighted me and gave me confirmation that I must now follow through. I am so in love with God. I was a Christian for 24 years and God took me out of it and put me on my true journey and it has been amazing. I thank you for having this space on the web, and for the beautiful work God has given to you to do and that you do it so faithfully.
I in short mainly wanted to thank you for being here and doing what you do and for writing how it began for you. I have experienced amazing and awesome things with God, it is never boring and in fact it is a grand adventure day after day. I so delight in Him.

Thanks
Lei

Dear Bev,

Each line you have chosen is beautiful and powerful. These are all titles, am I right? Wow, this is good.

Bev, I'm also glad you brought me back to this page, because Leilani posted something beautiful back in November, and it looks like I never responded. I would never want to leave such a posting as Lei's without a response.

Dear Lei, I especially loved when you said: "I am so in love with God." Isn't that just how it is?

Now I know God talks differently to different people, and so must our guides, and maybe you are someone they sorta have to be tough with, yet it is hard for me to imagine there is a should about your book or a time when it should have been done.

By the way, are you writing it, angel?

With love and blessing to both Bev and Lei,

Gloria
