God is an Englishman
There is a novel in the library called God Is an Englishman. I have never read the book. I imagine that the title is based on the idea that Englishmen are known for their great manners and courtesy.
Today I was proofing a Heavenletter prior to sending it off to Theophil for the final time, for Theophil puts Heavenletters in the queue exactly where they go. This Heavenletter is entitled You Are the Vastness. As I was reading over this Heavenletter, I saw that, as always, God shows us the Highest. He puts all of us in His bright light, and, isn't He the most generous of all? He is the most giving of all. He doesn't even see anything in us to forgive. He sees, but He sees with the eyes of love.
As you know, I have been pondering a lot lately the idea of generosity and my craving to be more generous and giving.
This morning, it seems to me that generosity is good manners. God is the ultimate gentleman (or woman.) He is Graciousness Itself. He is the most generous of all. God is a Great Gentleman.
It seems to me that with God, love always comes first.
If God were a Human Being in the world, He would hold doors open for everyone. He would always have someone go first before Him. He would always give others the biggest slice of cake. He would always do His utmost for others.
So, this morning, it occurs to me that, in my desire to be more unselfish, all I have to do is to remember good manners. That's what generosity is -- good manners.
Of course, God is not thinking in terms of good manners and common courtesy. He doesn't have to because He comes from a good heart and caring for all. Caring for others is simply where He is.
So now my assignment isn't just to become more generous and less selfish. Now my desire is to fit into God's shoes as if they were my own.

I love that! "...fit into God's shoes as if they were my own." Does it get simpler than that? In the next encounter I'm in, I'm going to ask, "What would God do here now?" - and I'm going act as if I were in God's shoes.
Senor, you already do act as if you were in God's shoes. That's just how you've been ever since I knew you.
There is NO god.
End of.
Sure there is!
