God, the Great Unifier

You know from the guidelines on the Heavenletter™  Spiritual Community Forum that we’re asked to stay away from discussions surrounding politics and religion. This is nothing against politics or religion. It’s just that these are often heated topics, and we’re looking for harmony on the Heaven forum rather than sides. There are plenty of sites that welcome  discussions and controversy.  Heaven’s forum  is not one of them. We don’t want anyone’s feelings hurt, and we don’t want to cultivate the idea that God is restricted to the beliefs of any one religion over another.

Heavenreaders represent all religions – Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism… Priests, ministers, rabbis, swamis, yogis read Heavenletters.  Heavenletters are for anyone and everyone. The only requirement for reading them is the desire. God belongs to everyone.

I’ve seen articles, as you must have as well, that separate religion and spirituality, and I don’t always understand why that’s necessary or understand what the authors are even talking about. And yet, here I am saying it’s better to separate religion and spirituality when it comes to the Heavenletter forum and Godwriting™ blog.

That seems unfair really, especially since, as an example, the Voice for God in Heavenletters quite often refers to Christ. You also know I personally had a couple of magnificent Christ experiences (any experience with Christ would have to be magnificent) and that I love him, and I do believe he played a great part in leading me to God.

Recently Heaven Admin came across a site with great quotations. What he discovered was amazing. All these incredibly wonderful, beautiful quotations sound just like Heavenletters! The same tone, the warmth, the love, the easygoingness. You could have fooled me!

Here are some examples:

You may not know me, but I know everything about you. I know when you sit down and when you rise up. I am familiar with all your ways. For you were made in my image. In me you live and move and have your being. For you are my offspring. I knew you even before you were conceived. I chose you when I planned creation.

I have been misrepresented by those who don't know me. I am not distant and angry, but am the complete expression of love.

And it is my desire to lavish my love on you. Simply because you are my child and I am your Father. Every good gift that you receive comes from my hand. My thoughts toward you are countless as the sand on the seashore.

And I rejoice over you with singing. I will never stop doing good to you. For you are my treasured possession. I desire to establish you with all my heart and all my soul.

And I want to show you great and marvelous things. I will give you the desires of your heart, for it is I who gave you those desires.

I am able to do more for you than you could possibly imagine, for I am your greatest encourager. As a shepherd carries a lamb, I have carried you close to my heart.

I am your Father, and I love you even as I love my son, Jesus. He is the exact representation of my being. He came to demonstrate that I am for you, not against you. And to tell you that I am not counting your sins.

Come home and I'll throw the biggest party heaven has ever seen. I have always been Father, and will always be Father. My question is:  Will you be my child?

At first I thought these quotations did come from Heavenletters, but I discovered they are from the Bible!

I know there are many other loving quotes from the Bible. When I was in school, teachers read from the Bible for five minutes every morning. I’m so glad, for anything I know of the Bible came from the days when teachers were allowed to read Bible passages out loud in school.

When I was literary editor of my high school yearbook, I was able to choose the theme:

"Let your light so shine before men.”

And isn’t God saying this all the time in Heavenletters? To let our light shine? Here’s how God says it in today’s Heavenletter, #2734, What God Asks of Us:

“The same light that shines in Christ shines in all.”

Do you agree that these quotations represent celebration, ease, nonattachment, love and joy so clearly carried forward in Heavenletter themes? There can be no controversy here, can there?

The site these quotations came from is: http://www.fatherlovestheworld.com/

YES, indeed. As for religion--there's a lot of folks who are "religious" without being spiritual, and many more who are spiritual and follow a particular religion. Seems to me the difference is religion is a doctrine, where spirituality is unity. It's FINE to follow a doctrine that feels like truth to you. In my opinion, though, it strays from Godde when that doctrine says, basically, "My way or the highway." I believe there are as many paths to Godde as there are people in the world. Be Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Buddhist, if that fills a need or quenches your thirst, as long as our Spirit also recognizes that ALL ARE ONE. Godde loves us all, speaks to us in OUR language, and teaches us to shine our light, and that light is love--the only true universal language.

Yes, the only true universal language. There is a Heavenletter where God says: "Love spoken here!"

And we are all learning to speak it more and more. :)
