God's mysterious ways

I love how our lives on Earth are unpredictable. That is, I do like nice surprises!

A trip to South Africa is one. And God's words made into a song is another!

None of these things could have been made to happen. They happen of themselves. There is no striving, no struggle, no effort, only joy -- joy of giving and joy of receiving.

There is a proverb that says: Nothing succeeds like success.

Success requires initiative, and Lance King, long-time Heavenreader, initiates. He doesn't wait for something to happen. He makes it happen.

From his beginning as an American heavy metal vocalist, Lance founded the St. Paul, Minnesota-based Nightmare Records which specializes in progressive metal and power metal and has a large selection of Christian metal artists. I learned that Lance originally founded the label in order to get the music of his band Gemini out to the world.  Since its small inception in 1990, Lance's record company has grown to sell over 2 million albums.

In melodic rock circles, especially throughout Europe, Lance King is one of the most respected singers working within the hard rock community today. His commanding vocals can be heard on over 25 albums within the last two decades.

People who are in music, it seems to me, are so happy in their work.

And Lance has the vision and is making the time to make music for Heavenletters™ and help God's words in Heavenletters™ to get out into the world and be known.

God works in wondrous and strange ways.

I certainly know in theory to keep learning and growing, and yet, sometimes, I have had an impression from I know not where that kept my eyes and ears closed. I never knew what heavy metal music was, and it never occurred to me that it was spiritual. Because of Lance, I have taken a little time to discover:

1. There is heavy metal, and there is heavy metal. Without knowing anything about it, I must have thought, if I were thinking at all,  that all heavy metal is alike.

2. Heavy metal music is also spiritual!

I should have known this! I so loved GODSPELL that had rock music and some discordant notes.

In yesterday's blog entry I gave the titles of music within Lance's new album, A Moment in Chiros. Now I see that Lance is not the only heavy metal musician to record music with spiritual titles, topics, and overtones. Hasn't God said that He is everywhere?

I found the following on Lance's site.

The esoteric mysteries of the Knight's Templar, the Holy Grail and even Lisa's own indigenous culture all tie together in a big musical story.

The title given to the Heavenletter Lance and I are talking about is:

HEAVEN #3348 God Makes Up a Jingle, January 24, 2010

I'm kind of thinking we might want to think of another title for the song. Lance, what do you think? What ideas does anyone have?

Here are God's lyrics:

God said:

It is not possible for you to say, "Let go," too often. To say Let go to yourself is what I mean. Tell yourself to let go a lot. Make up a song with a refrain of Let Go, and let that refrain run through your mind. Make a commercial of it, and play it often.

"Let go. Let go. I gotta let go of all I hang onto. I gotta let go of the ways life has gotta do or gotta look like. Let go, let go. I gotta let life choose its own clothes. I don't put life in a closet with mothballs. No, no, no, I don't cuz I let go, let go, let go. I gotta let go.

"Life owns itself. Life is for me to use, not for me to boss around. I walk beside life and not ahead of it. Ooo, ooo, ooo.

"Let go, let go, I gotta let go of everything I never wanted. Let go, let go, I gotta let go of everything that happened. I gotta let go, I gotta let go of everything that didn't happen. Ooo, ooo, ooo, I gotta let go. Gotta let go.

"Let go, let go, I gotta let go and get closer to God. I gotta let go, let go. Too much in my way. I gotta let go, let go, of what gets in my way. I gotta let go. Nothing is going to keep me away from God.

"I gotta let go, let go. I gotta get closer to God, closer to God, to God, to God. I'm on my way. I gotta let go and get closer to God. Here I am, God. Right here.

"'Let go gotta be my new song. Let go gotta be my new jingle.

"Let go, let go, I gotta let go of the past. The past gets me in trouble. Hanging on gets me in trouble. The past gets in my way. That old past is like eyeglasses that need cleaning. I gotta I gotta let go of the glasses of the past. Let go, let go, I gotta get me a new pair.

"I'm letting go, letting go of old ideas. I'm letting go of my old hanging on to whatever I hold onto. I'm letting go of my hanging on. Ooo, ooo, ooo.

"Gotta let go, gotta let go. All I've got is love. I gotta leave love behind, and I gotta take it with me too. I keep my love, and yet I can't keep it to myself. I gotta let go, and I gotta love and I gotta let love go.

"I gotta let go of that i.d. I gotta let go of my i.d. My i.d. not me. i.d. is a card I carry. It's a trick. It's like a coat I wear. And a coat is only a coat, and I am not a coat. My coat may be pretty, and yet I am not my coat. I gotta let go of my coat. I gotta let go of my coat. Now you see it, and now you don't. I gotta, gotta, gotta let go."

Beloveds, do you like My new song? It's catchy, isn't it. Hang on to this song, for this is how you let go of all that holds you back.

Let go, let go. You gotta let go.
