In Defense of God
I once had an email from a Heavenreader friend who was all excited because she had just learned that someone from another spiritual site had discovered Heavenletters™.
Actually, this other spiritual writer and I had been acquainted for some time. The Heavenreader emailed me something like this:
“Wow! That’s awesome -- X has hooked up with Heavenletters!!!

Wouldn't the world be perfect if everyone figured out that God doesn't need to be defended and can't get insulted and in fact is totally secure and doesn't have any buttons to get pushed and you don't have to "walk on eggshells" or put a pious look on your face or even be "reverent" and hushed? I know we all have only one God, no matter what names we refer to Him/Her by, but some folks act like they think they have to protect Him instead of the other way around. I'm glad God has a sense of humor, because some of us are pretty funny.
Hmm, Carol, God and ego are both three-letter words!
You make a very powerful point. Ego, as I well know, gets defensive and makes us think it's God we're defending!
