In regard to Go Merrily on Your Way

Go Merrily on Your Way is Heavenletter #3798.

This recent Heavenletter is about being above what God calls the "little dents in life," the slings and arrows that Shakespeare refers to in Hamlet. God says that we just don't have to be so sensitive to them.

There seems to be advantage in simply holding the idea that we don't have to be sensitive. We don't have to be crushed by any negativity that comes in. I love how God says  in Go Merrily on Your Way:

"Yes, be a duck and let water roll off your back."

Since Heavenletters began, twelve years ago, I have come a long way.  What would it be like if I didn't have God coming in every day with His love and wisdom? Painful to think of. God is the stability of my life, and you, dear Heavenreaders, are steady boosters.

Actually, it's phenomenal the distance I have come. I am unrecognizable. I spring back much more quickly. The next day I may not even be able to remember what it was that hurt my feelings the day before.

God has told us many times not to take offense. Isn't it ego that takes offense? Isn't it ego that makes us think that everything is directed toward us and that we must react to it?

God says to be sensitive to other people and not so sensitive to ourselves.

Must I feel that everyone has to value me and everyone has to value Heavenletters? Everyone in the world?  Why do I need anything from anyone when there is God's love? Now, I must confess, since Heavenletters, in addition to any personal hurts,  I have pangs when someone doesn't love Heavenletters! Really, what do I think? Do I think God needs my protection?!!!!

Nevertheless, regardless of everything I know, I am heartened by the boosts from every corner of the world while, at the same time, all the plaudits in the world are not enough. They do not begin to be enough. A hundred thousand praises are not enough. And yet one seeming affront can wield such enormous power.

I long for the day when I am a duck.

Gloria Dear, If someone or something upsets you, just think of all your readers and their love for you and the little upset will disappear Love you and be happy Jack

Praises from people, no matter how sincere they are, will never be enough. Moreover, they are tricky because we tend to separate them from people who don't praise. So there is always some ego in public praises.

When God says that having Him is more than enough, it is the absolute Truth and we shouldn't look for anything else. Absolute Trust in God, nothing more, nothing less.

I hear you Senora. When someone didn't like Heavenletters, I used to think, "Hello! Did you read that?". These days I understand. Yet, I have to add that all the cool people usually go something like "Wow"!
