There was a situation with some people recently that threw me for a loop.
I was not able to turn the other cheek by any definition. As I remember, God in Heavenletters™ defines turning the other cheek as: "Find another way to look at the situation. " I wasn't able to.
Then in regard to Heavenletter #3414 This One Simple Advice May Change Your Whole Life, Mary Moon posted a comment that made a difference for me.
God was speaking of quite a different situation from the one I find myself in. He was speaking of dealing with people who somehow always rub us the wrong way. In this case, these are people I have cared about deeply. Adored.
God was saying that if someone offends us, we do something to make them feel good, even a small thing like bringing them a cup of coffee or asking about their children.
These people weren't eager to even meet with me.
Mary Moon suggested that, in a difficult situation, we could light a candle for someone. That gave me something concrete to do that I could do with a full heart. So I lit a candle with the idea of blessing these people. I blessed each by name, and I am feeling so much more peace. I keep looking up at that candle on my fireplace mantel, and I feel blessed by it.
The situation hasn't changed, but lighting the candle helped to remove me from it.

It would be nice for you to light a candle for you too. The candle to represent the light you hold and that you will not be taken in by the illusion of shadows. then move forward with candle in hand to see what it shines on next, not bothering about what it left behind. Hugs, light, love, D

I have been so busy at work - it is our year end and I don't believe there is a word in the dictionary to describe the craziness.
I do, however, stop each morning to read Heavenletters, as they are my daily bread.
Gloria, I have to agree with you, #3414 really hit home.
There are a few people at work, one in particular,when she opens her mouth to speak, I literally have to ask God to help me get through what is about to happen. She is the type to just barge in when you are on the phone, or if she needs something, seems to feel she is the only manager with a problem. But she will go on and on, and then repeat everything she has just told, several times.
Here is the thing. Everyone feels the same way about her. But when I read that Heavenletter,I thought, that's it! God is right.(again ;0) I know she has a husband who does not respect her, and does his own thing, choosing not to listen to her. We are her forum.
But something else came to mind. If we are all mirrors for each other, then Mary's and Dianita's suggestions are even more important. And those things that bother us - we must have within us, (whether they are presenting or not) to be able to see them in others. And what a beautiful way to heal the person and us. Let the light shine on everyone.
What you posted, dear Lynda, is so important. What you have written, underscores the blog I'm going to post for today -- Friday.
I can only say thank you to all, for what is shared here is so precious.
I might add one small thing, I asked God with a particular issue that is difficult for me to get over and He answered:
"Why my dear child, nothing has changed in my cosmic vision."
Me: "Well yes, I suppose that is correct, but maybe you could just look down at the detail that is giving me such a hard time and help me ?"
God: "Oh yes my dear, I could limit and reduce my vision to that detail, but wouldn't you rather expand your vision to mine and see what I see ? Nothing has changed, you are my beloved child".
