MIracle Stories

I love miracle stories -- like my becoming a Godwriter™ out of the blue!

Looking through another anthology, I found that Jack London is a miracle story. His father was an astrologer, and his mother a medium! He was not given much attention. He had hardly any education. He lived in a slum and, while still a boy, he did the physical work of a man. No one saw a good future ahead for Jack.

He was still in his teens when he went to the Yukon and really saw life in the raw. When he first started writing about the Yukon, editors thought he was making up fantastic absurdly unrealistic stuff such as a man’s fist going through another man’s cheek. But everything Jack wrote about was something he had seen or experienced himself.

It makes me wonder. From parents who presumably were not so worldly, Jack London was so connected to the Earth.

My eighth grade classes used to read The Call of the Wild. I must have read it at least 12 times, and I loved it each time. (Sally, I also recommend reading Martin Eden which is Jack London’s autobiographical novel.)

We have such easy lives today. Are we spoiled or what?

But where did Jack London’s talent come from? Whoever could have predicted that he would become a writer at all, and especially such a fine one.

I would also like to mention Jennifer Hudson as a miracle success story. As I understand it, she was just like anyone else who wanted to sing. Then she got chosen for American Idol. She did not come in first, and yet American Idol was her great opportunity, and she soared from then on. And now she has starred in Dream Girls and has a career as a singer and movie star. Isn’t that wonderful?

America is still a land of opportunity where dreams can come true. Of course, dreams can come true anywhere. Do you know of some other miracle stories?

Gloria, I was just thinking of Call of the Wild as one of my all time favorite books. Also, I don't remember Beyonce being American Idol. Do you have a time frame?

Anyway...miracles are the best.

Beyonce Knowles was a pop star long before American Idol. Jennifer Hudson was the Idol contestant who did not win, but went on to win an Oscar for her part in Dream Girls.

My mistake! Thank you for making it right. Shows you how much I know. I'll go change the name in the entry now.

Gloria!

I love to talk and read about miracles. It's one of the most uplifting subjects for me!

Here I AM on the tiny island of Kauia, a newcomer. It's so wonderful that I have been meeting a plethera of individuals who have had miracle healings in their lives . . . the miracle of LIFE! How sweet it is to find and resotre strength, peace and the miracle of health in one's own physical being! I can attest to that, and you can count me in as a walking miracle!
