Nobody in our family

One of my mother's sayings was: "Nobody in our family ever gets broken bones." That was so true.

The only exception while my mother was alive was when my brother Sid was in junior high school, he broke a rib or two in some sport.

So many years after my mother's death, I seem to have to prove her wrong. First my broken ribs a few years ago. Then my broken shoulder. And now, not thinking of anything else to write about this morning, I must confess that my slipping on the ice last week did result in a broken elbow.

Yikes, elbows are painful, but I never had a clue that I had injured my elbow. I thought it was my wrist! This is the least painful injury I ever had.

I went to see that wonderful Dr. Ivins. Even before x-rays, he was quite sure what it was.

It will take about five more weeks for the bone to heal on its own.  I just have to be careful how I move my arm.  I've lost about 20% motion in the arm. After five weeks, once it's healed, then we'll see what kind of exercises Dr. Ivins suggests to restore its full motion and what exercises I will do.

I am counting my blessings and being very careful to watch out for patches of ice. And you, please do the same.

Dear Gloria, I am so sorry for your phisical pain and I ask all you othersto think and take some pain away from gloria and feel some yourself so Gloria gets well sooner and can cary on better with her godwriting and her workshops. So In Meditation Lets do it take away Gloria's Pain. It does work!!!!! Love you All Jack

My beloved friend, Jack, I must have mislead you, dear one! I am not in pain! I have aches and awareness every now and then, but this break is a snap!!! (Get my joke!)

I can't lean on the hand. I can't do push-ups!!!! There are certain ways, that if I move it, it would hurt, so I don't move my arm that way.

What is difficult, for instance, is to get up out of bed. Try it with only one arm to use. I am there on my back struggling like a crab to right myself!

I can do light dishes but not hold a pan in my left arm to scrub it with my right.

There are inconveniences, that's all.

Please don't even think of praying for me. It's not necessary, and, in my understanding, God in Heavenletters does not encourage it. I believe He says that requiring prayer, especially from others, is emphasizing neediness.

I do seriously thank God that this little break is all I have. I fell flat on my back. I could have really been injured! Instead, God gave me this little half inch or so fracture which will heal all by itself! If I hadn't gone to the doctor, it would heal just the same.

When you think of me, dear friend -- and I like you to think of me! -- think of how lucky and blessed I am.

Loving you,

Gloria

Gloria, I will do some distance Reiki healing tonight when I am at home.
Was this the same side as your shoulder?
Lots of love and light to you.

Oh, you Lynda! All is well. This is NOTHING, honest.

I wouldn't have even mentioned it in the blog this morning except I was rushing off to Iowa City to accompany a friend to the hospital there and wanted to get a blog entry up fast!

Of course, as it turned out, big snowstorm. Driving is terrible, and we're not going. So the moral of the story is to not rush!

I tell you, all the sweetness and caring of the dear people here must have already made this so easy. What a power of love you all are. Who could ask for anything more. I can't.

Hugs

Gloria, dear, I like your attitude about your broken bone. You seem to have no fear about it and are taking it in stride. Perhaps this is why it is not hurting you much, you are not fearing imagined consequences and adding to your distress. You also clearly have faith in your body to heal itself. In my expereince, this will speed your healing. I am curious about your statement that God in Heavenletters discourages asking for the prayer of others. If you can cite this letter, I'd love to read it, for my own edification. If you don't have easy access to it, please don't spend time on it, I'll watch for the topic in my readings.

I find your topic for this blog quite interesting, probably because these are important issues I deal with daily.

God has suggested that we should appreciate cold weather as well as warm, but I must confess to disliking cold weather and do not see how I can change this attitude. I'm looking forward to warm weather again, love to all......Chuck

From Sutra #176
HOW TO PRAY

Gloria:

Karen has suggested that it would be good for me to pray for people. I'm not sure I know how to pray, dear God.

God:

Prayer, like HEAVEN, exists beyond words. Consider prayer to be an act of heart in which you turn the person or situation over to Me. Free them to be with Me. Hand them over to Me.

If someone has an illness, for example, give him to Me for healing. I heal. You can't. You can run around all over and do everything you can, but you cannot heal. I do the healing. Doctors do not. No man can.

You cannot make it so that Ginger is free from dependence on insulin, but I can. Ask Me.

When you turn someone or something over to Me, that is prayer.

With prayer, you stop owning. Prayer is not a tribute to Me. It is in giving over your possession. You deed to Me.

Prayer is not your holding on to something. "Fervent" makes conditions. Prayer is not fervent. Do not pray fervently. Pray easily. You mentally move a person or situation from one place to another.

You pray for Ginger as you move her out of your smallness into My greatness.

Whose hands should she rely on, yours or Mine?

Prayer is surrender. In prayer, you surrender to Truth.

Everything you do for little Ginger, you do for Me. I have hired you to love her and grant her happiness. So it is I Who manages her care. Do you understand?

Prayer acknowledges Truth. There is more than body. You as individual govern nothing. That is why control must be given away. Control is a pretense, and pretense creates strain. Pretense is a lie.

Prayer is more than reaching out to Me. It is giving to Me what you value. Prayer is a gift to Me. Before prayer, you carried weights that were not yours to carry. With prayer, you deliver the weight to the One to Whom it weighs nothing.

Gloria:

Dear God, in prayer then, if I give over to You, that means I do not try to control the outcome?

God:

Yes.

Gloria:

If I pray that you cure Ginger so that her body can make its own insulin, is that an incorrect prayer?

God:

It is a limited prayer. Better to give Ginger over to My care. Pray:

"Dear Almighty Father, here is our little dog Ginger. I turn her over to You. She is Yours anyway, but I relinquish the illusion that I know what is right for her. I very much want her to live in good health without the need for insulin shots. That is my desire and my need. If You, in Your vision and wisdom, choose otherwise, then I ask You to take away her fear of the needle and any pain it causes her. I thank You for insulin. I thank You for putting Ginger under our care, and we know that she is, above all, under Your care.

"Help us to know how to make her life richer and help her to know You Who loves her. I remind Ginger that You are her God, and that Lauren and I are Your helpers.

"I pray that Ginger knows what a gift she is to us, and how much we love her and appreciate all she has done to teach us the way of Your heart.

"We thank her for all You have taught us through her. And we thank You for listening and loving us and our friends, and may everyone know the sweet intimacy of Your love, Lord."

Gloria:

God, in this prayer the singular "I" kept turning into the plural "us". At first I thought it was Lauren and me, and then I thought it was more.

God:

It is more. The "we" is all My children. You speak for all, as all speak for all. Your offering of prayer is an offering of healing for the world, don't you know that?

The crab feeling, dearest Gloria, reminds me of your Dead Sea adventure.

And after swift recovery, don't forget to take up your push-ups again.

Beloved Jochen, I don't believe I've done push-ups since high school!

Senor, I'm quite sure there is more about prayer -- or nonprayer, that is! Are you up to finding more?

Yes, you're right! I had forgotten about the Dead Sea experience when I couldn't get up!

Maybe all this not being able to get up is to remind me to never be a crab!

Loving you,

Gloria

Beloved Chuck, you were around last year when I injured my shoulder, weren't you? It was just about a year ago.

This blog entry tells about my amazing recovery:

http://www.godwriting.org/godwriting/amazing-revelations-health.htm

After that, I can only have confidence in my body's ability to heal. It was super. And some of the healing was on the order of Godwriting -- I mean it came from that same level. It happened without formal physical therapy. The exercises that came were more like Godwriting!

I do fear that I could bump into my arm, or someone could grab me by that arm, or I could slip again and fall on my arm. That would be OUCH!

Since my post tend to disappear into some black hole when I include links, I think it's better to post the whole Heavenletter I found:

Your Mindset
Heavenletter #2821 Published on: August 15, 2008

God said:
Let Us talk of prayer a little bit.

Talking to Me and prayer may or may not be the same. Telling Me what is in your heart is one story. Asking for favors or intercession is another, even when those matters are deep in your heart. Will you start thinking that there is no need to ask Me for favors for yourself or for anyone? Will you begin thinking that it is no favor for Me to give and that all has been given to you already? There is nothing for you to ask for. Do you really think you have to ask? Do you think I would forget you?

Often prayer is a pleading, and you have no need to plead, beloved. Often prayer is begging, and you have no need to beg. I am your Father, yet you do not have to come to Me to ask for an allowance for yourself or another. We have a pre-life agreement, beloveds, that unto you, all will be given. It is written in. All My treasures are yours. They are for you in the first place. Do you really think that you have to ask Me for that which is already My Will for you? Do you really think you have to ask Me to bless you or another? You have only to pick up all the good that is yours.

I am talking about your mindset. It is a beautiful thing for you to say, "God bless you," because you are describing what already is. When you ask Me to give blessings to you or another, you are being redundant. Your prayers were answered long ago, way before you thought to ask for whatever it is you ask for. Bear in mind that there is change in the relative world, and there is the playing-out that does not always allow the specifics you may ask for. Let this not be an offense to you, beloveds.

Here's the point: Get away from the idea that you are missing anything. There is no Lost and Found Department in Heaven. There is no lost, yet all is found.

I do not wish you to think of yourself as someone in need. Nor do I wish you to think of someone else as in need. Nor do I wish you to think that you have a better connection to Me than someone else. Nor do I want you to think that someone else is less fortunate than you or more fortunate than you.

Know that you are fortunate, and all others are also fortunate. This is big what I am saying to you now. You have good fortune. You are blessed with good fortune.

It is well for you not to think of yourself or anyone as ill. If Christ had believed deeply in illness, whom would he have helped to make well? In his mind, he saw wellness, and wellness there was. Had he seen sickly beings, they would have stayed sickly beings. He saw as I see, and I ask you to see as I do see.

If it is true that I am in everyone — and it is true — then it behooves you not to look down on anyone. It behooves you to look for the good, beloveds. Do not think there is anyone you have to pray for.

Now that I have said all this, know that it is good to talk to Me whatever the subject. I want to hear from you. I love to hear from you. I do not listen so much to your words as I do listen to your heart.

I know very well that you want to be with Me, so be with Me any way you want. I welcome you on whatever terms you wish to come to Me. If you like to be on your knees, I don't mind. I kiss the top of your head then. Stand, and I kiss your forehead or your cheek. But in whatever position you are in, wherever you are, in church or at the corner bar, I bless you. I am always blessing you. You are blessed. You are My blessing, and you have My blessings. What more can you ask for?

Wow, what amazingly useful responses to my request! I have a 7 letter ebook in the works concerning prayer, these new resources will make it much better.

Jochen, I had read Sutra #176 several months ago, but it did not sink in like it did after you cited it and I re-read it in response to my question. God’s example prayer about Ginger in this Sutra is just fantastic! I have often wondered if my healing prayers for my patients were as effective as they could be. This is like a Lord's Prayer for healing.

Gloria, your Godwriting blog entry about healing your shoulder is also superb! I did not get to read it back when you first wrote it since it was back before I discovered Heavenletters. It contains some wonderful insights about healing that I will be able to use a lot in the future. You have such excellent intuition. The healing which you described demonstrated such faith and trust, it truly was on the level of Godwriting.

As if that wasn’t enough, Jochen, your citation of Heavenletter #2821 not only answered my question directly, it was complete with many further insights about the true nature of prayer.

You guys are amazing! What a resource for us who long for reliable answers. Thanks so much……Chuck

Er, ahem, beloved Chuck, it is God Who is amazing! Of course, I think a doctor like you is amazing!

It feels to me like you have been around a lot longer than you have.

The intuitive healing exercises that Gloria did, worked. Her doctor was beyond amazed that she got back complete mobility of her shoulder and maybe more. And now with the healing elbow, Senora goes along with her daily tasks as if nothing had happened. There was some pretty major bruising, which has just about cleared out now. Anyways this is what healing is meant to be. No big deal. Perfectly natural.
