The verified and unverified
On the Heavenletter forum, there are people who post who are called unverified. What is the difference between the verified people who post and the unverified? All it means is that the verified people have registered, and the unverified people haven't.
The unverified and the verified both post beautiful comments. That one is verified or unverified is no big deal. On the surface, we might think that the unverified could be a lesser breed. Not so! No so at all!
It seems that people in the world are often looked upon as verified or unverified. They are considered in, or they are considered out. How someone is dressed may make someone verified in the eyes of the world or, if not dressed up to the viewer's standards, unverified. It could be someone's occupation, income, housing, education, intelligence, age or youth, health, complexion. And, yet, the criteria of the world fluctuate. Should the standards of the world be our guides? I don't think so.
Once upon a time, the word bad meant bad. Now bad means good. The word bomb used to indicate a failure. Now the word bomb connotes terrific! Once upon cut-off jeans would have been frowned on. Now cut-off jeans have become stylish. Once upon a time, plump women were considered beautiful, and now they're overweight. High blood pressure used to be over 160. Now high blood pressure is over 140.
God, may we come from on high and not be caught up in superficial details. Help us to go to the heart of things. Help us to see everyone as verified.
