The person behind the computer
This is a little bit more of a response to Normand's comment under the entry How Heaven Admin and I speak two different languages! Normand wrote:
Dear Gloria, when Heaven Admin and you come down to counting, I think you both understand what maximize (Heaven Admin) and minimize (you) mean. 6 hours versus 3 hours, 500 times versus “few times”…
In the computer client-support business, we used to diagnose most of the problems as originating between the chair and the computer!. ( I know it’s not very nice, but let’s admit it is a good one. N’est-ce pas, Santhan?)
I used to help people in their job search. I remember a fantastic programmer who told me:"Whenever there's a bug in a program I'm working on, the bug is in me. I fix the bug in me, and the bug in the program is fixed. "
Very interesting, isn't that? And profound. Could that apply to everything, I wonder.
I want to tell you unequivocally that I am very glad that Heaven Admin and I do not think exactly alike. Heaven forbid! Where would the fun be? What would there be to tease each other about? And who would do the web site?
No, I like it as it is. In fact, I would like to think more the way Heaven Admin does.
He and Normand and many others know what they are doing on the computer. They know where everything fits. I just seem to know some of the pieces here and there and have no concept of their relationship to each other or the whole. On the computer, I fly blind.
I have learned many things on the computer, and I do know how to do what I know very well. I have to learn every step on the computer by rote or a kind of patchwork process without having awareness of what anything has to do with anything else. It's like I always start as a novice.
Despite my often frustrating relationship with computers, please know how very very grateful for them I am. Without computers, where would Heavenletters™ and you and I be now?
I am grateful for you every day and our connection to God and all our shared blessings.

Beloved Gloria,
After years of trying to learn about God, prescribed lessons in colorful books with golden edged pages, incense-laden air, chimes and foreign sounding chants, there was little progress in learning. There was guilt and much confusion. I took the scientific approach and considered the unified field. The unified field was nice, but it didn’t speak to my heart.
Then along came you, dear Gloria, with Heavenletters, with the real goods.

“I never stop whispering My words of love to you. Of course, My words are more than whispers. My words are Truth, so My words more than speak to you. They embrace you. They wrap you in themselves. They charge you up. My words stroke you, but My words are more than strokes. My words give you the essence of what is spoken of. My words are deliverers to you. They give you the real goods. They are the real goods.”
Thank you, beloved Gloria, for delivering the real goods.
I am grateful and deeply indebted to you for sharing your God. Your God and I have become close friends. It is so natural and easy and comforting to be with Him at all times, and this is only possible because of you and your devoted heart of love, your amazing team and your successful work with computers.
With love and the deepest heartfelt gratitude,
Beverly
Beloved Bev, it is always a beautiful occasion when you post.
There is no my God, you know that. There is only God.
It is so bizarre, Bev, because I was, for most of my life, indifferent to God. He didn't exist for me period. I don't think I disbelieved in God as a Being, but He was for other people and just wasn't on my radar. I simply did not relate. And then something happened.
Naturally, I love your positivity! Yes, I am devoted, and I am devoted to something worthy. Yes, such an amazing team has come together. It is supreme, and it is growing. But my successful work with computers?!!
I will start thinking that way, and we'll see what happens.
God bless you.
With love, Gloria
