The Puzzle of Money
Every once in a while I wake up in the morning with words that seem to be the beginning of a Heavenletter.
The other morning I woke up with such words running through my mind, going over and over, and I felt these were words God wanted me to write down.
The thoughts went like this:
A poor man is a man without dreams. A rich man has purpose.
So I got up to write, and this was one of those rare times when the Godwriting™ did NOT just flow. There can be only one reason for that, and the reason is some inner resistance from me.
Thankfully, the Heavenletter™ did come. I had to recognize, once again, that I have money issues. I think what money issues means is that I am not comfortable with the whole concept of money and certainly not good at it. I don’t know how to work with money. I don't know how to raise it. I don't know how to ask for it. I don’t understand it. It doesn’t feel real, and I guess I wish we didn't have to have it, for I think the whole world would seem lighter without it.
I know words about money, such as money is a medium of exchange, but, inside, I really don't get it, why, for instance, some people are rich and others are poor, why some countries are rich and others are poor, why people have to work at jobs and often jobs that don't make them happy -- all for pieces of paper.
I know explanations, but the explanations don't explain it to me.
I can spend money all right, but, otherwise I don’t know what to make of it.
I don't exactly know where this entry is going, so I think I will just stop here, without an ending at all.

Hi Gloria,
I have had major car expenses and that is now settled. This happened just at the time I was going to send you another cheque, for your HAT. So I will send one this week. Gloria Dear, it is not shameful to ask for money for what you are doing. It would be good if you remind people about the "HAT" at times and no stigma attached to it. It must cost you and your helpers a lot to get these letters out daily. Please keep it up and if you do not do it I will occasionally mention the "HAT" Love Jack
OMG Gloria!
A couple of years ago I asked God a similar question about money. Here it is:
Please God, I'm confused about monetary profit.
Should we seek monetary profit?
And if we receive monetary profit, how should this profit be used in our daily lives?
Thank you God!
I love you with all my heart!
Karen
God to Karen:
Blessed Karen, yes, seek monetary profit not for itself but for its means. Use it for good. With money in your pocket, you can give more to others. With money, it is easier for you to be generous. With money, you can take good care of yourself as well.
What would you do with a lot of money if you had it? What dreams, yours and others, would you fulfill?
What could be wrong with having money that you would not want to have it?
Profit and gauging are two different things. But it is not taking advantage of another to be paid for your services. Fair exchange is fair exchange.
You are not to short-change yourself anymore than you are anyone else. What would that be admirable? Are you not one of My children. Deny not even one of My children.
But money is not a God. It is not to be sought at all cost. You do not give up honor for money. You do not put money before love.
Money and love seem to go in tandem. If you are tight with your heart, you are likely also tight with money. If you are tight with money, you are also tight with your heart. Be generous with your heart and with money. Circulate them.
Neither money nor love is to be hoarded.
Remember where money comes from. No matter from what avenue it comes, it comes from Me.
Money is energy, and all energy comes from Me.
Money is meant to be a traveler. It is not meant to stay in one place.
Consider money love, and as you give it, as you pay for anything, give love with it. Bless the hand that receives money from you. Bless also the hand that gives it to you. Do not grab, but accept joyously.
Consider money food, and do not turn away from it. It is to nourish you and provide for you.
Money is of the relative world of course. Abundance is from Heaven. Have abundance in all ways. Be the abundant giver and the abundant receiver.
Of itself, money is nothing but colored paper or coins. It is a presumption that has been agreed upon. Toothpicks could be money, but metal and paper were chosen.
Whatever money means to you, that is its power. You are its power. Your consciousness is its power. It is said that money talks, but that is only in certain circles that money becomes supreme of all. Yet you are a ventriloquist who gives voice to money.
Do not put your faith in money more than you put your faith in Me. And yet, honor money for its wealth. Bless it. Accrue it so that you may spend it. Money is a tool like any other. It can be a hammer or it can be a sieve. It can be a violin or a bongo.
You are more valuable than any amount of money. Life matters more. Health matters more. Love matters more. Yet money also has its value as a means of exchange. It is a convenient means of exchange.
It can bring you food and furniture and housing and a car. It is good to have money. Do not accept that you are less to make profit than you would be to not. Profit in everything, even money.
I would not have you without financial means. That is not My desire for you. At the same time, money is not My utmost desire for you. Money is as good as you say it is, so say it is good. It is fine to roll in money. It is fine to desire money, but just do not desire it above all. No matter how much money you may have, or how little, it is not a signal of your worth. Your worth is non-negotiable. You cannot be worth less nor can you be worth more than I say.
But, yes, it is good to have money in your pocket. It is also pure. But remember it is only paper and metal. Rather than count your money, count what you do with it.
Money is not a stepchild. Nor is it the child favored above all.
Have enough so that you do not have to focus on it overmuch. Let it not be all you think about. Use what money you have for good. Share it. Let yourself be blessed with it, My blessed child.
Oh Gloria!
Don't you just love how God always answers perfectly?
My personal belief about money is that I'll always have enough of it. God and I have a pact. I honor God to the best of my ability and God takes care of me by ALWAYS providing me with enough money to take care of my needs, just in time, in the nick of time, and for all time. No worries there!
But recently, I decided that I wanted to experience more than just enough money. I wanted to experience exactly one million tax free dollars! I kept saying and thinking that I wanted one million tax free dollars! I told my family and friends that I wanted one million tax free dollars. And do you know what happened? I got it! One day not long ago, my grandson handed me a "playbill" in the amount of one million dollars! Tax free! I almost fell off the chair laughing! So much for that experience!
I guess the old saying is true "Be careful what you ask for (or think about) because you just might get it!
Sweet Gloria, I think I can tell you what this entry is about. I had a hard time stopping to laugh to be able to write this, and maybe others will feel that way too. We simply need to laugh more about ourselves. Money issues! I certainly have them. They always looked so grim. I still don't know what to do about them, sometimes trembling ever so slightly, but they do start looking funny as so many other things do.
"The explanations don't explain it" -- I think it's wonderful to know that. And I think we can rest assured that there will never be an explanation that explains it. It's not possible because WE are the explanation.
Lord, help me trust you - and laugh,
Jochen
My dear Gloria
For some reason I read your post this morning, just after a long conversation with a beloved person about money and motivation and dreams and smiling and frowning. I read this and I read today's Heavenletter about smiling, which, before reading this post, I forwarded to the person I just mentioned...and I'd never forwarded him a Heavenletter before. But it fit the conversation so very well. And then, I read THIS post, which fit it even better. Because, of course, our frowning, puzzled conversation was about money, misdemeanors, and dreams. So once again, I'm delighted and amazed and so happy to know you and your beautiful letters from God, which have spread so much joy into this puzzled world! But it just so happens that I share your befuddlement and probably resistance and confusion about money. Oh well. J.S. Bach, a revered and beloved soul, said "Betorte welt" in one of the cantatas that I love. I.e., twisted world, where things are a little bit backwards, or twisted around, sometimes. And I do believe money is often one of those places!
Dear Gloria,
I so much relate to your feelings about money !
And, dear Karen, thank you very much for sharing with us this wonderful reply God sent to you about these money matters.
I found it very interesting and inspiring, for I had never thought before I could just associate love and money. This is yet so obvious !
And your experience with the "one million tax free dollars" is just awesome. You worth it for sure !
Maybe wealth, in terms of money, is just a matter of accepting our great self-worth and everybody else great worth.
Do you remember my comment about "the world I envision" dear Gloria ? "In the world I envision there's no need for money", I said.
Well, now I wonder if a world where everybody is a billionaire wouldn't just be okay to me.
To me, everybody would deserve it.
So yes, indeed, why is there poverty and wealth in this relative world ? This must have something to do with the way we consider ourselves.
So, may we just let all of us us be blessed with huge amounts of love and money and never forget love comes first.
Cédric
Canim Gloria,
I understand you with whole my heart and I wish you an urgent and very abundant money flow as soon as possible, as musch as you wish.
And Karen, everything you wrote amazed me.
(4 years ago I left my regular and killing and boring office job saying "Oh God, a piece of bread a piece of jacket....enough..(A sufi saying))
Now I see that the whole issue is not so simple(!) So I do need your advice: How can I make a 1 million dolar - tax free cheque for myself and for all my beloved ones.
PS:If you know anybody who needs a Turkish translator you can refer me :)))
love you all
Engin
Wow, all your responses are amazing!
So much love and wisdom here.
We will all be laughing soon, Jochen!
And, of course, we already are blessed with the richness of God. Abundance is ours.
My first impression Gloria, was that you got the answer before the question when the thoughts "A poor man is a man without dreams. A rich man has purpose." came to you. But then, as you say, there was a lingering question waiting for an answer.
Look how many answers came pouring, after you voicing your qualms! We all identify with you.
God's answer to Karen, I feel so right on, that I will print it to remind me from time to time. So is also today's "You Are No Stranger to Joy
Heavenletter # 2608"!
Isn't it funny, how I was moved to contribute to the "Hat" yesterday, before the subject of money came up? I love it, when things work out like that!
As you say: "Abundance is ours."!
Ditto,
Xenia
