The Sun
It’s no surprise when we see the sun glisten on the snow.
But the other day, to my surprise, the sun through my window alit on a little baggie of flax seeds on my table.
For a few moments, the angle of the sun turned the seeds into tiny jewels. The seeds sparkled, and each seed glistened distinctively on its own. It was like I could have given a name to each one. To my eyes, suddenly, the humble flax seed had become important and beautiful.
Only God could make something so beautiful as the flax seeds in the sunlight on my table.
This experience reminded me of the thrill of cutting open a pomegranate and seeing its perfect shiny seeds.
I am loving flax seeds, not just as seeds to eat, but as something the sun has shone on.
