The Unexpected

Since Godwriting™  and Heavenletters™ my life has been one unexpected thing after another. It is all miracle to me.

Have I mentioned that I am working on the script for a musical, lyrics and all?

Who on Earth could have predicted this?!!! No one, not by a long shot.

Which one of us knows all the twists and turns that life holds for us?

I have some nerve writing a play, let alone a musical!!!

How it happened is that I sent Heaven Admin a little paper back book from India called Heart of a Gopi.  The book is inspired writing, not quite Godwriting, yet the author,  Raihana Tyabji, did not know ahead of time what he was going to write. It was more like the book wrote itself.

Heaven Admin loved the story, too, and casually asked me if I would make a play of it. It would be hard to say no to Heaven Admin, so I said, "Yes." I said, "Yes," not knowing how I could ever find the time to do it and quite unsure of my ability to do it.

Once I started writing it, however, I was in Heaven and didn't want to stop. I was at home writing it.  In about two weeks, I had it done. I say "done," but it was really just begun, for it has been reworked probably twenty times since. It keeps getting better and better, mostly because of input from others like Heaven Admin and the lovely lady in the Boston area who has been composing the music and a few others.

I forgot to say -- when I started writing, I had no idea the play would be a musical, but very soon it was as if the play itself told me it wanted to be a musical. There was no doubt of it.

The play takes place in 3,000 B.C. in India. Gopis are milkmaids. Gopis were known for their love of Krishna, a personification of God.  Gopis symbolize pure devotion.

We who love God with all our hearts must be today's Gopis.

Gloria Dear you are amazing, I read the story a few years ago and I enjoyed it as well. Please let me know when and where I can see a preformance. That is worthwhile looking forward too. Love to all from Paradise where I live. Jack

Sometimes it takes years and years and much collaboration before a play makes it to the stage.

I tell what, beloved Jack, when our play makes it to Broadway, we will send you two front-row tickets, one for you and one for Mieke.

Years and years Dear Gloria, Do You Not forget that You have a devine Backer who will speed it Up Possibly befor Christmas?? Go for it!!!! Will see you in Broadway.

Ah! Jack and Mieke must have front row seats. And all the other participants here. Can you imagine! Gloria casually writes about the play here. Its the best script I've ever read. It shines. One can see the whole play taking shape from reading the script. The Heart of a Gopi story is so beautiful. The musical that Gloria writes is beyond words. Cheryl in Boston is working magic with the musical compositions. I can hardly wait to see the opening performance. Yes we are all Gopis.
