We are God's Instruments

As you know, Bernie Siegel, M.D., and I have been friends for some time now.  Like so many things in my life that Heavenletters™ have brought, who could have dreamed this? How could this happen? It is because of God and miracles and who Bernie is.

Here is a short sample of a recent correspondence between Bernie and me based on a Heavenletter™ named Bounce that spoke to Bernie's heart. "Leap up to life. Bounce," this Heavenletter says, whatever the weather may be.  That is so much like how Bernie has lived all his life.

I must confess that I have added many words to my response to Bernie -- making it better! Well, naturally, I thought of more things to say as I was getting this ready!

At the end of this entry, I have something to ask you!

Yes, God is a musician and orchestra leader and we are His instruments. i like that -- it came from God knows where.

I was thinking that this idea needs to be a Heavenletter.

I am an oboe or violin.

What a great question. What musical instrument of God's are you!

At first, Bernie, I thought I would be a reed, maybe an oboe, too. Then I thought I couldn't commit myself, for I want the freedom to change at a moment's notice!

And, just then, I knew with certainty that I am a triangle. Yes, I am a triangle. I'm glad to be that simple instrument I was introduced to in kindergarten and banged once for an assembly. It took all the courage I had at that time.

Why do I think I may be a triangle? A triangle is simple, clear, uncomplicated, any way you look at it. A triangle is just what it is and doesn't adorn itself. It stays itself. Anyone can get a simple tone from the triangle. The triangle is democratic and likes being simple and uncomplicated.

Now I can make a comparison between the simple music a triangle makes and the simple notes of Heavenletters. I banged the triangle once, now Heavenletters every day. I am so lucky.

Love ya,

Gloria

Now, dear Blogreaders, tell us what musical instrument you are and why?

Hammered dulcimer. It's the sound of going God knows where and being at home everywhere.

A flute, I love to be a flute and God's breath goes through me.

At first I thought, the symbols, because I used to love to bang them in the early grades in the choir.
But I believe I have evolved to the harp. I love to listen to the harp. It reminds me of the angels.

The melodic, peaceful sound of the angel's wings.

And if I haven't quite made it as a harp yet, I will..

Even before getting to your question at the end of this entry I knew without a doubt that I am a violin, a Stradivarius, that can go high and low in tunes, dance and vary with joy, expressing the beauty of God's creation.

Pianoforte, a solo instrument.

I love the metaphor of God being an orchestra leader and we being the instruments! Imagine 6 billion plus instruments placed all over the globe. Each one with individuality and validity and purpose within the music of the orchesta. The goal is harmony, focusing on the orchestra leader and following His baton.

I love it!

I am with Paula Violin the more it is played the better it gets LOVE is another instrument I love to be Love you all Jack

I think I want to be the big kettle drum that adds a vibration to the air.

Probably more like a clarinet--sweet music in the right hands, but can get squawky when played wrong. LOL

BERNIE'S RESPONSE TO YOUR POSTS:

neat!

a harp is nice too

like tristan -- a harp and a sword

A piano. It is a full orchestra contained in a single instrument, like God.
