What is the purpose of this blog 2
Years ago, someone wrote to me with good intent, suggesting that it would be better in terms of this Godwriting™ blog if I would stay on topic. The topic, of course, being spirituality. I don't remember who this person was, but now I would listen more carefully, and now I would thank her at greater length. This doesn't mean that I would have said, "Yes, I will do it from now on." Nor would I say a big Yes now if this lady wrote in today.
The fact is that I am not so spiritual that I could write every day about the singly spiritual. I don't have enough to say. God in Heavenletters™, on the other hand, does that very well!
Every now and then, years back, I would take a look at other spiritual blogs. What I observed was that, while I may have liked the first entry I read, as I read more, I had a sense of going to a lecture, being instructed, and I wished the writers would just be people instead of perfect spiritual people/experts.
Never fear, I won't be that. I couldn't if I tried.
I also felt that these writers -- I have no recollection now of who they were -- were straining to stick with the subject, and they were hard-pressed to do that, and it didn't feel to me that they were enjoying themselves very much.
God tells us the importance of joy. Jochen commented yesterday that he likes light not so serious things. Barbara from Ashland says it's more about consciousness than topics. I hear what Jochen and Barbara are saying very well.
In case you don't know it, I love writing this blog. I love writing. With my fingers on my ergonomic keyboard, writing is a textural thing, kinesthetic even. I mean to continue to enjoy writing for this blog.
What I will do now is to make sure that what I write for the blog does not divert us from God and send us in other directions that may distract us from our clear desire to come closer to God.
So, I come back to: Why was I spouting off about coincidences?
The Heavenletter Spiritual Community Forum has guidelines and best practices for posting. I also need to think about what I post here on this blog. I can use some guidelines. I'm not here just for my pleasure. I want to do my best here as a human writer to write what is a little worthwhile and, hopefully, in God's best interest.
God tells us the importance of intention, so I'm thinking that, to the best of my ability, that whatever I post here, with all my heart, I intend that it will:
Inspire
Uplift
Make us laugh or smile
Help us to understand ourselves and other human beings better
Further our thinking
Bring insights
Make you, the reader, glad you read it, and me, the writer, glad that I wrote it, and maybe God glad too.
I further promise myself and you that:
I won't post an entry because I don't have a better one.
I will do everything not to be self-indulgent.
I will bear in mind that this is a Godwriting blog and that the beautiful, kind, generous, God-loving people who come here deserve posts that take us somewhere worth going... even when it may only be a short distance.

Ah, well, it's your blog, Gloria, and you can do whatever you want with it. That's what makes it a blog, and also what makes it interesting. On days when there isn't a new entry it doesn't ruin my day, I just figure you were busy with something else or didn't have that much to say that particular day.
I don't come here for spiritual uplift, I come here to spend a bit of time with you as a friend, if you're around. Not saying that spiritual uplift can't happen here, but I certainly don't come here for a message. That's what the Heaven Letter of the day is for. I just come here to hang out a little and, hey, if some Japanese word is running around you barking like a Pekinese, that's probably a lot more interesting than what I'm dealing with most of the time.
Charles, you mean it's like we meet at a coffee shop or the corner bar just to be together? The blog is like a meeting place? I like that too very much.
I like what Charles said, too
What is spirituality, anyway? Doesn't God say again and again in Heavenletters that whatever we are doing, we are doing it for Him. Everything in life is 'spiritual', because everything is made of God. I read somewhere that this year is dedicated to ending separation. We are to stop thinking of spirituality as something separated, as something we will think about, when we've got our earthly tasks done, and bring spirituality in everything we do. And are.
Yes, this place is like a meeting place for good friends. And good friends share their lives, because in something, that for you seems trivial, there may be a seed of wisdom for another.
Wow, Paula!
Hi Gloria,
My feeling is like Paula's. Spirituality resides in everything. You saying that you are not going to write about anything that is not spiritual is saying that there are things that don't have spirituality in them. God is in everything so stop worrying about your content. It all leads somewhere whether you know who it touches or how. Each thing you write touches someone somewhere. Isn't that a noble purpose?
You share, and we love to be part of it. Don't stop sharing your life, it makes spirituality fun and brings it down to our earthly level. Many channels tell us to lighten up, that we humans take everything far too seriously ~ so enjoy your blog!
Thank you, beautiful Dorothy.
Well... While I do agree with all of the above, I also agree with you about not posting everything that seems "interesting" to you.
You may take that any way that you want and I am sure that you will take it as only a positive statement from your good friend who takes you to the supermarket.
