Work and Spirituality as One

I have never seen anything like the memo I'm going to share with you.

But first, I don't know how it is or was for you at work, but I had some pretty bad work situations. For example, when I taught in one school in California, an administrator would bully me.  He said things to me like:

"I asked you before, and now I'm telling you."

You get the idea.

I don't remember this administrator's name. I don't remember what it was he wanted me to do. I do remember his bullying, and how it made me feel, and how it makes me feel now to even think about it.

I did quit that teaching job as fast as I could.

Of course, I've had wonderful employers as well.

Wouldn't it be a different world if every employer treated his employees as God would want us to? To treat every person as if he were worth something?

Are there really employers like that?

Yes, there are. At least I know one, and it's Heaven Admin.

I think I'm going to do a series of three blog entries -- this is the first -- about how Heaven Admin runs his businesses and how he treats his employees. Actually, Heaven Admin doesn't have employees.  He has team members whom he truly honors and treats with the greatest respect. He has businesses in three countries and works practically full-time for Heaven, and, still, he makes time for everyone and everything and is so gracious.

Just to give you an idea of what it's like to work with Santhan, here's a memo he recently sent out to his team -- did you ever see a memo like this? I never did.

Dear Friends,

Here is a prayer that I say before work. Try it,  and let me know if it works!

A Prayer Before Work

Dear God/Father/Mother/Divinity/Padre Nuestra ( You choose! I say God or Bhagavan.)

Allow my actions today to be guided by your Grace. May I work with a sense of purpose and devote my awareness to the task at hand. I offer all results at your Divine feet.

I want to say that again:

Allow my actions today to be guided by your Grace. May I work with a sense of purpose and devote my awareness to the task at hand. I offer all results at your Divine feet.

Of course, Santhan signed his memo One Love.

It has to be that there will be more and more employers who live up to the name One Love.

Meanwhile, I am delighted to know one.
