All the work Heaven Admin went to to layer the garden with leaves and egg cartons for mulch!
Before: Beautiful and mulched
This morning a crew came by with their blowers to make the yard neat. To make the yard neat, they used the blower to remove the leaves. What leaves the blower didn't catch, another lady, painstakingly by hand, had taken out all the work Heaven Admin had done, leaving bare soil exposed.
After: Bare soil
When I realized what these ladies were doing, I ran out in my nightie asking them to please leave everything as it was. These dear ladies would do anything you ask of them, but some do not speak English very well. The one who was taking out all Heaven Admin's work by hand knew I wanted something but didn't understand what it was I wanted. I kept saying: "Leave the leaves! Mulch! No weeds! No weeds!"
And she looked at me blankly.
Finally, I took her big sack and emptied it on the driveway.
I'm sure she thought I was some kind of crazy lady. It was worth it because I did, at least, retrieve the mulch and Heaven Admin's labor of love. He had everything arranged so perfectly. Driftwood, big leaves, stones, everything. I don't know what they did with the arrangement of stones.
Santhan must be at the beach. He will take this in his stride. Nothing phases him whereas I, on the other hand, go frantic. This whole thing is just grinding through me again and again. Why wasn't I alert sooner? How will we ever get it back just right?
There is a surprise ending to this story -- and a lesson.
There is more than one reason why it is wise to never get upset.
How can I confess the ending to this story? I am red-faced.
Heaven Admin was home all the while.
The bare spots where I was sure the lady had removed the mulch were places that Heaven Admin had not yet filled in. I had gotten hysterical for nothing. Nada. I owe the lady an apology. I truly am sorry.
It goes to show you - I was totally off the wall, and it never pays to get upset.
I should change the title of this blog entry to Shakespeare's Much Ado about Nothing and forgive myself for being so rash. Not the first time.
