Story of the Idea from yesterday's blog entry
About two months ago, a devoted Heavenreader, Adam Cole, suggested that I write to celebrities and get endorsements that would blaze Heavenletters into the limelight, and, so, Adam planted a seed.
And yesterday I posted a blog entry about an idea I had in July and acted on from the fullness of my heart. Alas, it has not yet borne fruit.
You may remember that about nine years ago, I wrote to about thirty well-known people in the world, primarily authors, including Shirley Maclaine, movie star, who had written Out on a Limb, a book of her spiritual discovery.
Almost all the people I wrote to -- mostly through their assistants -- wrote back and said nice things. A well-known rabbi even asked a personal questions of God, but no one wanted to go on record. In the rabbi's particular situation, I understood how he couldn't come out for something that was not in his chosen field. In any case, nothing came of all the letters I sent.
My motive in writing to those well-known people was to get an endorsement. Nothing wrong with that, yet it would seem that when I do something from a utilitarian gain, it doesn't seem to work.
Soon after that mailing out flurry, I was reading Peace, Love, & Healing by Bernie Siegel, M.D., and his book raised some real questions in my heart, and I wrote to Bernie sincerely. He responded, asked me some tough questions, subscribed to Heavenletters, sponsored the Heaven CD, and has been a great friend to Heavenletters and to me personally ever since.
It took nine years more before it dawned on me to write to someone else from the depths of my heart. I also wanted something from this person whose books I have read and admired deeply. Why I didn't think to do this years ago, I don't know. I must have been asleep.
The letter I wrote is too long to include with this introduction. Tomorrow, I will post the letter I wrote and sent and have not heard back from.
But that's okay, it was a good thing to do, and I'm glad I did it.

Comments
You know Gloria, I am only just beginning, but what I am discovering, is that I may be certain who I feel will resonate with the message I am putting out there. Perhaps God has other ideas.
As you know, I talk on my site of other times, the effect on me and how I have moved from that. A few of my articles have attracted the attention of groups I would never have imagined.
They are asking me to connect. This may take my ideas to a place I wouldn't have thought of going.
Perhaps those you thought would respond, were in a different place at the time. And whoever you connected with now, will be very responsive.
God knows:)
Today's blog is a response to your comment, dear Lynda. Saturday.
