The Most Wonderful Store Manager in the World
Can't you just tell?
Aren't you just happy looking at his Santa Claus face?
This is Richard, the store manager at the home-grown convenience store in the Palm beach community in South Africa where I am now blessed to live. I say home-grown convenience store because it is not part of a chain.
This is Richard who went way beyond the extra mile to help me when Heaven Admin was out of town, phone was not working, internet was not working, electricity went off, and I was beside myself. Richard let me use his cell phone. He called every place he knew to see about getting my service back on. He spent time with me, an hysterical person!!! :) You realize that no phone, no internet went on for three days at least!
The photo above has a little story behind it. When I went in to ask Richard if I could take his photo, he said yes, of course. He wanted to take his jacket off for the photo. It was one of those times when a jacket became a straight-jacket, and he just couldn't get his arms out! I got my camera out quickly and took the picture and we were both laughing and laughing. I told Richard this was a photo of a stick-up or of his being kidnapped for ransom.
In the second photo, you can see that Richard smiles even when his arms aren't strapped in his jacket!
If there is a reward for best store manager in the world, Richard wins it.
